Les Mémoires
Sandy & Patti Moore

We remember "Uncle" George as a proud man---proud of his family, his career and of being an American citizen.  We also thank George for our being here.  He met our father in the recruiting line in 1940 and since our father, who had come to Toronto from Kirkland Lake, had no place to stay, George took him home and that is where he met our mother Nancy (George's step-sister).  Over the years Dad and George remained firm friends because of the  war experiences in the Horse Guards and a shared sense of humour.

One thing that will always be remembered are the bright plaid trousers that George wore on his trip to Scotland with our parents--the Scots certainly saw him coming long before they heard him.
